If you've been following my work, you've probably noticed this location pop up quite a few times- Historic Smithville Mansion in Mount Holly, New Jersey. My couples love this gorgeous location and it's easy to see why- there's so much variety and looks amazing in every season... not to mention the gorgeous sunset over the lake. Rebecca and Scott are getting married in just a few months and what better way to celebrate than an engagement session. When I saw Rebecca in a white tulle skirt, I was SO excited! I love when couples get a little fancy for their session- it's so inspiring. I was also excited to see Milo, their excited little guy! We had a great evening- see for yourself. :)
It was late-April when I met Anna and Jeff at Smithville Mansion in Mount Holly for their engagement session. I love Spring. It’s a time of renewal and new life. There were gorgeous blooms everywhere- we even found the most beautiful purple flowers for a portrait of Anna’s engagement ring. Anna and Jeff are so genuinely fun to be around. They were super laidback even while they were in the process of moving and planning their wedding. I can’t wait to share their wedding with you!
Blake is turning one today, and to document this special time, we met at Smithville Mansion in Mount Holly to get some great shots of him and his awesome mommy and daddy. We had a great time exploring and finding fun spots to entertain a one-year-old. Blake is a totally happy, smiley guy- which makes my job easier! To make him the happiest little guy ever- we ended with a cake smash! Didn't his mommy do an awesome job coordinating his outfit and this adorable cake?! Happy Birthday, Blake! Keep smiling :)
Kevin and Kelly got engaged just two short months ago at Kevin's 30th birthday celebration. Friends and family surrounded them, as everybody knew what was about to happen... except Kelly. During a German birthday tradition, Kevin got down on one knee and asked Kelly for her hand in marriage... Have goosebumps yet? Kudos to Kevin for the planning and bravery of such an amazing and memorable engagement! Kevin and Kelly have been in full-swing wedding mode since then choosing a super cute venue, picking colors, and even special wedding shoes for both bride and groom ;) We got together one evening at historic Smithville Mansion in Mount Holly for their engagement session. Smithville is a wonderful place to shoot because there is so much variety and its so quaint and quiet. Every time I'm there, I come across something new- it's like a little adventure. Anyway- Kevin and Kelly are one of those funny couples who love to joke around and just enjoy each other- did I mention this makes for fabulous engagement photographs? The proof is here! I cannot wait to document the best day of their lives next August!

Well... not quite a wedding- more of an anniversary shoot. Jessica and Tom were married five years ago. They decided to commemorate their perfect day by putting on the clothes that they wore that day (props to all gals who can fit into their dress five years and one kid later!) and heading out for a photo shoot. Did I mention who did Jessica's hair and makeup? The wonderful Kate Spencer provided the romantic updo, and Paula Miller with the flawless makeup. I'm pretty sure that these two practiced their poses and faces before they came- they seriously brought it on. Models! I had such a great time celebrating five wonderful years with them. You two are amazing! <3
Let's face it, the holiday season is hands down, the best ever! So we've gotta capture it! Read below for five tips for amazing Christmas photographs.
1- Choose a versatile location.. This season I chose to hold holiday mini sessions at Smithville Mansion. There are so many different textures and backgrounds, I could shoot there all day!
2. BYOF (bring your own flair) We came prepared with tinsel, ornaments, and Christmas lights.
3. Get sweet. It's cold outside! If you have a cutie in need of some bribing- a candy cane always helps ;)
4. Santa hats. It's okay to get silly for a couple of shots in a santa hat!
5. Sneak in a couple of non-holiday pictures. So the shots you took in your Santa hats probably won't make the cut for a canvas on the wall. Make sure you get a couple of shots sans decorations.
We were so happy to greet Meghan, Dave, and baby Sophie on Black Friday for a long weekend. The Z family is one of our closest friends, but they live too far away... in Massachusetts. Our relationship has been a long-distance one from the beginning, when I first met Dave and Meghan in Aruba (my husband's family vacationed with their family throughout their childhood). Dave and Meghan might look familiar from their maternity session shot in Aruba, or baby Sophie's newborn pics seen here or even Sophie's baptism. We went to Penn's Landing in Philadelphia, and Smithville Mansion the next morning. This is just a portion of the blast we had that weekend. Miss you already Z family!!!!
I may be somewhat partial to this session... it is my fabulous family. Meet my sister-in-law, Lisa, and her husband, Dave, and their two adorable children <3 I feel like I have been documenting their lives for the past two years since they moved back to New Jersey. We also had Pete (Dave's brother) and his son come to hang out at Smithville Mansion. I had a great time chasing around three small children in Santa hats and trying to make them smile... let's just say there was lots of bribing involved. Enjoy! <3
On a chilly Saturday morning, I met the Kervick family at Smithville Mansion in Eastampton (one of my favorite places) for some Christmas pictures. They came in coordinating jackets, practicially stepping out of J.Crew. Did I mention this is one of my favorite families to photograph? I've shot their wedding photographs and Holden's first birthday photographs, and it's undeniable, they are one of the most photogenic families ever! Holden, I hope Santa brings you all the presents in the world!
